The Metzeler Six Days Extreme wins the Grand Prix of Italy in three classes
Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy – This weekend, Metzeler won all three categories in both days, with Antoine Meo and Eero Remes taking first in E1 on day 1 and day 2, Cristobal Guerrero winning both days of E2, and David Knight and Christophe Nambotin winning E3 on day 1 and day 2, respectively.
This weekend was full of surprises for the Metzeler riders. In Enduro 3, Christophe Nambotin had a difficult first day, and David Knight rode to victory his Metzeler Six Days Extreme. The Briton grabbed his first win of the season. The next day, Christophe Nambotin—also a Metzeler rider—caught and passed Knight and brought home the victory for KTM. Joakim Ljunggren (Husaberg) came second both days.
In Enduro 1, Metzeler also carried riders to victory both days. Despite a difficult start on the first day, Antoine Meo was able to snatch victory on the final lap. The next day, Meo’s teammate Eero Remes snatched victory when Meo fell victim to mechanical trouble. Rodrig Thain came 8th on day 1 and 4th on day 2. Simone Albergoni came 5th and 6th on days 1 and 2, respectively.
In Enduro 2, Metzeler also brought home magnificent victories thanks to Salminen and Guerrero. Victory eluded the Spaniard on day 1 but clinched victory on day 2.
Finally in Junior, Kevin BENAVIDES from Argentina had an excellent weekend
The EWC has now six weeks of rest before heading to Karlsborg in Sweden for the Grand Prix of Sweden Husaberg.
