The 72nd Annual Sturgis Rally starts August 6th!
On August 6th, the week-long Sturgis Rally will kick off with hundreds of Harleys, metric V-Twins, and new Victorys prowling on Main Street. This year will feature the 10th Annual Mayor’s Ride, and our favorite event, the 8th Annual World Championship of Custom Bike Building. Riders will see Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, and tackle the Needles Highway, Vanocker Canyon Road, and Highway 14A.
In June, Victory and Indian announced a new downtown display site, where you can meet R. Lee Ermey, see the 2013 Victory line, and demorides on the 4th through the 11th, 9-5 PM. Learn more at Victory’s website.
Sturgis wouldn’t be complete without some music, and Slash—of Guns ‘n Roses and Velvet Revolver fame—will be playing Friday 8/10 with his band Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. They’ll be playing songs from their latest album, Apocalyptic Love. The concert is free, and will be held at the Buffalo Chip.
Anyone interested in going should book lodging soon, since Sturgis’ own hotel-finder shows just two campsites and a $300+ / night Days Inn.
