Where are they now!? Tracking down our old bikes
Ever wonder what ever happened to the bikes that have passed through your hands over the years? We checked-in with people who’ve bought bikes from us over the past few years, and here are the responses we got (and the pictures they sent us). Nice to know that people actually do notice and appreciate buying a bike that’s been cared for.
1974 Honda CB550:
Do you still have the CB550? Miss that bike, it was great! I hope it treated you well. (two and a half years after sale)
Hi Nick ..Yes ….I still have it. Been treating it really well….I changed to a pointless ignition, new coils, spark wires…changed all the cables….regular maintenance…oil/filter etc….It’s never been left out on the street since I’ve purchased it from you (always garaged) …it’s currently(only the last 3 months ) at my families house in jersey in a heated garage for the winter…
I was riding it a few days ago…still runs great…everything is cleaned and polished…cam chain’s been adjusted/valves too…new drive chain as well….I always tell everyone how well you took care of it…I’m just trying t do the same….

2003 Yamaha TW200:
So, how’s the TW going? (2 months after sale)
It’s incredible! I wish I had taken pictures from the camping trip this weekend up at the Delaware Water Gap. I wiped out once but the bark busters saved the bike from any damage – darn gravel! All in all, the bike is a fantastic piece of machinery. It’s been so lovely to learn on so far that I’m tempted to not give it up when I get a heavier bike in a few months. Tim and I have taken this baby off road many times and it performs so well – the fire roads we hit up during camping were a breeze and swamps, creeks and major hills are no match for this little wonder. We built a rack and got a rotopax for spare fuel. Also got a new 4.1 gallon tank to put on but that won’t be on for a few more weeks. This is the only picture I have right now!

All’s been good, still riding strong if a bit cold…3 weeks ago a jackass cab driver literally rear ended me while I was completely stopped at a red light…didn’t see it (nor me apparently) no biggie…bike’s fine just a little scratched up as was I…actually, I hit my hand pretty hard we’ll see if it still hurts in a bit I’ll go to the doctor…but I think it’s fine. The insurance appraisal guy came and said they’ll let me know, I might get something outta this…aside from that, it’s great. I had to put in some serious money in repairs though, got new tires cause I was really slipping out there when it was at all wet, new brake pads.
Crash Details:
Houston and 2nd ave. I was first, he was right behind me and stopped as well but decided to prematurely accelerate hitting me straight from behind…would have take out straight from under me but I got this pretty sizeable trunk now on the back so that hit into me and the bike and I went down to the right…we stupidly did not file a police report cause I saw that the bike looked OK and I was terribly late for a VERY important work meeting…guy gave me his number I took his plate and all and said he’d probably just give me some cash…then proceeded to not pikc up my phone calls for 2 days…but I tracked him down and filed a claim…we’ll see…the trunk is broken so I better get that…plus the rim is bent but it’s almost impossible to see even…couple of minor scratches…she’s a tough bike…and it’s been great learning to really ride.

The pipe is great. I think it tops out around 38 or 39.
